Methodology

This ranking is designed to find the best MBA degree available in the state of Pennsylvania. A list of almost 100 MBA programs was obtained and then evaluated based on the following four factors:

Accreditation: Each MBA in this list is accredited by one of the six regional accrediting organizations recognized by the US Department of Education, specifically the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Additionally, each MBA was vetted on whether it obtained a third-party business accreditation from one of the top business school accrediting institutions: IACBE, ACBSP, and AACSB. AACSB is widely regarded as the highest standard of business accreditations in the world, and thus the schools that hold this accreditation were given the highest score.

Affordability: Each MBA was evaluated based on the estimated base tuition cost for the entire program. When a college offers an in-state tuition lower than the out-of-state cost, the in-state tuition was used in this ranking, in order to report on the highest ROI. The cost was gathered from the most recent data given on each program and school website. The lowest tuition in the list is $17,144, the highest came in at $153,160, with the average resting at $42,361.

Average salary: This data was collected from PayScale's Graduate School Salary Report, giving the average early-career salary reported by recent master's and MBA graduates from each institution. A potential ROI for a program can be estimated by evaluating this data and the estimated tuition cost. The highest early-career salary reported and used in this ranking is $125,000. Any program without a recorded PayScale early-career salary was calculated at zero because of no available third-party data.

Prestige: This data was collected from two of the most prestigious sources in educational rankings, US News and World Report and The Princeton Review. Schools were ranked on their score within the US News and World Report's Top Business School Ranking and whether they were included in the Princeton Review's Best Western Regional Ranking.

All data was collected, weighted equally, and then averaged for this ranking, in order to find the Top 25 Master's of Business Administration Programs in Pennsylvania.
